The perfect wedding gift

I've had a lot of commissions for weddings already this year.
And it seems that it's a handy present when you don't know the happy couple's first dance song to just use their names and wedding date as the words. So much so I am adding it as a separate listing to my notonthehighstreet shop shortly (for now just use the personalised papercut to order).

Now you don't have to buy that luxury feather down duvet from their wedding list, or indeed the obligatory bread maker they'll never use. PLUS, it doubles as a helpful reminder so they'll never forget their anniversary, thus leading to marital bliss forever more.  Phew!

No, I haven't spelled May wrong... it's a French wedding. Durrr.

Yay for bunting!

So if you've got a wedding coming up, do the bride and groom a favour and order one of these. They'll thank you for it in years to come when the husband has NO EXCUSE to forget their anniversary. Tee hee! Visit my notonthehighstreet shop.

I love it when a plan comes together

My friend Hannah is a clever lass who designs all sorts of beautiful jewellery.
Her InspiRings have been featured in Vogue dontchewknow!
We've coveted each others work for a while now so when she commissioned me to do a large papercut for her boyfriend as his anniversary gift (for WHOM exactly, Hannah, hmm?) I jumped at the chance for a little swapsie action.

It worked like a dream. It was a little like the old 'Charlie Says' infomercials: I got an apple and Charlie got something HE liked. Only I didn't get an apple, I got a beautiful set of silver InspiRings and Hannah got something SHE liked. Namely a large red bespoke handcut papercut of their song. I love it when a plan comes together... (does that make you want to watch The A Team? no, me neither.)

Cute huh?

And here's those lovely rings... each one is inscribed with each of my little babies names on one side and birthdate on the other. Just so I remember what they're called and when to buy a birthday present. Joking I am, Gav...

I love them. They can be worn as rings or on a necklace. Bewdiful, thanks Hannah!

So if you fancy your own InspiRings or just wanna check out Hannah's lovely jewellery, visit

New business cards from Moo hurray!

When you order something, what do you think when it arrives? It's like the parcel can read my mind...  Good old Moo!

I love their packaging - "Quick, schedule a meeting! Your business cards have arrived."
And with 10, that's right TEN different pics on the back to choose from, I have trouble choosing which one to give out to people. But hey - a few in my wallet double up as a kind of portfolio when I try to explain exactly what it is I do.

"Yeah, I cut paper... into sort of words... or lyrics..., erm... here. Look at these."
"Oooh, you must have a lot of patience."
"Nah, not really. Just a good eye, a steady hand and a neat little swivel scalpel thingy"
"Oh, right. Bye!"
"Wait! Don't you want... one... oh."

There, a little bit of made-up dialogue for you.

So if you want a bit of YAY in the post, head over to Moo and design your own business cards, stickers, postcards, allsorts!

From the first time I saw you...

Good crikey lordy lummy, I haven't blogged for AGES.
I do apologise.
Juggling (not literally you understand) a baby and papercuts is quite a tricky one.

I am only just managing to get all the orders out, let alone the old blogging requirements to keep you all visually entertained. Expect a GLUT of blog posts all in quick succession as I spew them all out over my digital toilet bowl. Sorry. Not a nice analogy. Erm.. as I crack them off? No, that's no good either... as I quickly write about my papercutting exploits. There, better?

The eagle-eyed among you will be able to spy on my dock. Hey! Stop spying on my dock!

Laters gators... more to follow very soon no doubt.

What is love?

This is the second of two large commissions I've just completed. Beautiful words and very true. Yes I am a soppy doppy doo dah (isn't that so Mr Papercuts?).

Apologies for not writing a 'How to' blogpost as promised. I will get onto it soon...

Make of our lives, one life

These lyrics are from 'One Hand, One Heart' from West Side Story.
Call me an uncool soppy fool but I love that film. I'm humming it now... not this song, but the dancey bit where they kick their legs to the side like a half star jump. Love it.

I know I photograph a lot of my commissions on my lovely wooden table, but there you go, look! I use a cutting mat! The beautiful table would be ruined if I cut onto that. And besides Mr Papercuts would KILL me... and a papercut just isn't worth the bother, No matter how lovely. Right kids? Take heed.

If you like what you see, and why wouldn't you eh? You can commission your very own papercut - you can order one on my shop on notonthehighstreet or by emailing me direct (kyleighspapecuts [at] gmail [dot] com). I'd love to hear from you!

Late night scalpelage

I just made that word up.
Do you like it?

I guess it means 'Cutting Paper With A Scalpel'.
But yeah, so here's a commission I thought I'd share. You can see it was 9.55pm when I finished it. The flip clock screensaver and slight murky darkness gives the game away.

I'm in my wendy house today whilst Nella Noodle is at the childminders for the first time EVER (aside from a couple of times we did an hour practise). I feel a little lost, but also am relishing the time to catch up commissions, scalpelage (there it is again! woop!) and of course, this 'ere blogging. I know she'll be fine. In fact I've just had a text tellimg me she's just been playing and is no asleep. Awww.

But anyway! Can't sitt here chit chatting all afternoon, I've got to get back to my scalpelage. Hey, try to get my new and exclusive word into  sentence... if you do you'll win, erm... you'll win, the Rights to my new word. HOWZAT?
