Christmas orders are finally finished! I feel like doing a little celebratory dance - but at 39 weeks pregnant I think I'll refrain. Maternity leave starts right here, right now. I'm so tired I could sleep standing up.

So that was my first notonthehighstreet Christmas, eh? Plus I was in the brochure. But I am down on their forecast which is weird. But then I never know how they work out that stuff anyway. I miss doing the bespoke personalised papercuts - my favourite part of what I do is the design bit and the cutting out bit. With all the lasercut existing designs I've been framing, it was getting a wee bit tedious.

Now I'm going to relax, put my feet up and await our new little arrival like I should have been doing weeks ago.

I will fold and refold teeny tiny little babygrows.
I will try on the baby carrier despite it not fitting over my bump.
I will smell the Johnsons baby bath a dozen times.
I will pack and unpack and repack my hospital bag numerous times.
I will eat too much chocolate (this baby has temporarily changed my savoury tooth into a sweet one).
I will make mince pies, cheese straws and ginger biscuits.
I will go into the nursery just to sit on the breastfeeding chair and look at the change in the room that Kyleigh's Papercuts was started in back in February this year.

Wow. Not even a year yet! I'll do something special like a giveaway or something to celebrate my first year. You mark my words.

I'm already thinking about Valentines Day. I might design some cards, and a lovely red special lovey dovey papercut. What do you think? Ok ok, I'll switch off. But I'll be back soon. Hopefully with baby news.

Have a fantastic Christmas if I don't get chance to blog before. Enjoy your family and friends, drink too much and be silly. Go on. Do it for me. xx

Lesson learned

I was mortified to hear form a customer the other day who hadn't yet received her bespoke papercut despite me sending it mid-OCTOBER!? "Eeeeeeek!" thought I, don't worry I'll check the tracking. But alas... it was unframed, meaning it was sent through our dear old Post Office standard first class. Meaning no tracking. DOH!

So on a cold snowy day I handcut this beast again. It's a tricky one, being black on black. But worth it, I hope you agree.

Unframed large papercuts I mount it lightly onto A3 card, then onto mountboard with a cellophane sleeve over the whole thing.

"Hey! I'm trying to work!" Pelted with snowballs by daughter no.2 on my little wendy house studio. Tsk, what's a girl got to do for a bit of peace round here?

Now... I will go and write 100 lines "I WILL send bespoke papercuts recorded delivery, I WILL send bepoke papercuts recorded delivery, I WILL send bespoke papercuts recorded delivery..."

We're all off to Westbury to celebrate a family Christmas with all my family and their husbands/wives and numerous cousins. We call it 'First Christmas' and it's lovely. So technically it's Christmas Eve today for me, yippee! First Christmas is a little early this year what with my big old bump being due in a couple of weeks. But its so perfect with all the snow around. I just hope we make it from Dorset to Wiltshire in the ice... eek! Have a great weekend everyone, stay warm!

Everyone is into red paper at the moment...

This was a commission for word from a book review of her husband's book review. I thought it was a pretty cool idea. I'd love to know what book it was though! Well done that author!

I'm getting a little hacked off with the quality of the old iPhone pics... proof indeed that I NEED an iPhone 4 pleeeeeeease!! C'mon Father Christmas, see what you can do.

Framed and out in the post.

Now onto the rest of my Christmas orders I seem to be drowning in... I've had a nightmare with getting hold of more frames. Chasing and chasing, I'll have to look into this in the New Year, erm, make that SOMETIME next year - keep forgetting I've got a baby imminent!!

So frames for my limited edition lasercuts are currently in stock, but running out fast! And I've been told that once they're gone, there's no more now until the end of January. Craziness... so if anyone knows of any lovely ways to frame papercuts, or any frame suppliers let me know.
